Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in the style that is his own. She has performed on Broadway, in the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang and played piano. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship within the Atlanta's R&B scene. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for his stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the stage production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was at the center of attention for the nation during four performances per day at 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
