She was the daughter of iron worker Olden Wilson and his wife Lillian Ryan who worked as a domestic servant. Nancy was the youngest of six children. Nancy was greatly influenced as a girl by the music her dad enjoyed and loved playing at home. When she was just four years old, she realized she'd be a singing star.
